Sarah firmly believes that resolving family law matters outside of court provides clients with the best possible outcome. Not only does it allow clients to control the outcome, it significantly reduces the stress, animosity, and financial hardship associated with drawn-out court battles. Sarah is a trained mediator and helps parties work towards settlement and craft agreements that work for them and their families. However, when settlement is not possible, Sarah is a strong and strategic advocate for her clients.
In 2025, Sarah joined Tobias Iszard after being a partner at one of the most respected family law firms in Northern Virginia. Her legal career has been dedicated entirely to the practice of family law since completing a two year judicial clerkship with the Honorable William D. Hamblen (Ret.) in Prince William County Circuit Court.
Very active in local and state level professional associations, Sarah was President of the Prince William County Bar Association in 2018. She is currently a member of the Virginia State Bar Family Law Board of Governors and a faculty member of the Harry L. Carrico Professionalism Course, teaching ethics to newly admitted attorneys. She is also a member of the Virginia Bar Association Domestic Relations Section Council and is it’s liaison to the Virginia Family Law Coalition, which advocates for legislation impacting family law issues.
Sarah graduated from George Mason University School of Law 2011 in the top third of her class. Throughout law school Sarah worked for George Mason University’s Staff Senate as an administrative assistant, completed multiple internships and legal clinics, and had her first two children. She received her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, with double majors in Political Science and Communications, from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island in 2001. Prior to law school, she worked in public and media relations for six years, gaining oral and written advocacy skills that were very transferable to the legal profession.
She was named a Rising Star in 2021 and a Super Lawyer since 2022 by Super Lawyers® and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America ® in Family Law since 2021.
Sarah lives in Bristow with her Husband Tony, their four children, and dog Bryce. Her spare time is spent driving around to extracurricular activities and coordinating her family’s seemingly endless list of logistics.
